A Day with Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai

A couple of Wednesdays ago, Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai came over to help babysit us. Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai played with us so much that Matthew and I got so tired and ended up taking a 3 hour nap.

Adorable

Mommy says that Matthew and I are super adorable. She especially loves it when she catches me hugging and kissing Matthew.

Bedtime Story

Powdered Donut

Mommy and Daddy like to put lots of powder on me and Matthew like a powdered donut coz they say it makes us smell so good. Here's Matthew in his "powdered donut" look.

Hanging Out with Mommy's Friends

Mommy's friends and their kids came to visit us a couple of weekends ago. Matthew and I had fun playing with Nathan, Joey, and Joshua. Mommy said that it was nice catching up with her friends especially since they don't get to see each other very often.

Fun at Grandma's House

I played with Uncle Tim's drums and the piano when we went to Grandma's house a couple of weekends ago. I had so much fun that I didn't want to leave.

Meeting Up with Daddy's Friends

A couple of weekends ago, we met up with Daddy's friends. We got to see Uncle Hien, Auntie Rachelle, Isabella and Angelina. We also got to see Uncle Dave, Auntie Chaikee and their baby, Addison.

Celebrating Matthew's 3-Month Birthday and Nai Nai's Birthday

We celebrated Matthew's 3-month birthday on April 23. Since Nai Nai's birthday was the day before, we ended up celebrating her birthday also.

I Love Doggies

When we're at the mall, Daddy takes me to the pet store so that I can see all the different kinds of doggies. I love doggies so much that Mama bought me a toy doggy coz Mommy says I can't have a real one right now. Hopefully Mommy will change her mind when Matthew and I get older.

Roomies

From the first day that Matthew came home from the hospital, Mama has been spending a couple of nights a week with us to help take care of me and Matthew. Mama would sleep with Matthew in the nursery and wake up every couple of hours to feed him and change his diapee. It was such a big help especially for Mommy coz she was able to get some rest. Mama is the best! We love her very much.

Eating a Quesadilla

Quesadillas are so yummy. I like to eat one while I'm watching TV.

Protective Brother

Mommy and Daddy say that I am so loving towards my baby brother. Every day I kiss him and hold him. I'm also very protective of him. Whenever my parents' friends (that I've never met before) carry Matthew, I always make whining noises and sign for them to give Matthew back to Mommy or Daddy.

Fresh and Clean

Matthew used to cry when Mommy would give him a bath but not anymore. He loves the water and smelling fresh and clean after a nice bath.

I Love Holding Matthew

Just about a week ago, I have started to want to hold my baby brother. The first time I asked Mommy if I could hold him, she couldn't understand what I wanted. I would point at Matthew and then pat my chest. I did that several times until Mommy finally figured out that I wanted her to lean Matthew against me. Here are some pictures of me holding Matthew for the first time. Matthew looks a little scared and uncomfortable in some of these pictures but he's all good now that I've had a lot more practice holding him. I love my baby brother so much!

Playing with My Baby Brother

Mommy brought out this baby toy from storage so that Matthew can play with it. It used to be mine when I was a baby but now that I'm a big boy, Mommy thought I wouldn't be interested in it anymore... but when I saw Matthew playing with it, he looked like he was having such a good time so I decided to join him. I love playing with my baby brother.

Daddy's Way of Multi-Tasking

Daddy's way of multi-tasking is putting Matthew next to him on the couch while he works on his laptop and watches basketball at the same time.

Playdate with Tyson

Tyson and Uncle Brian came over a couple of weekends ago. I had fun playing with Tyson in our backyard. I can't wait until summer time so that Matthew, Tyson, and I can swim in our pool.

Grandma and Her Grandsons

A couple of weekends ago, Grandma and Grandpa Dick came over to visit me and Matthew. Matthew showed off his awesome smile and I showed off some of my new tricks.

Yummy Fingers

Matthew has discovered his fingers. He loves to put them in his mouth and lick them like a lollilop.

Picky Eater

I've been very picky with food lately. Mommy and Daddy have such a hard time figuring out what to feed me. I usually refuse to eat a lot of the things they give me... but one thing I never refuse is a donut.

Woo Woo Hunter

Every time I see a magazine, I always want Mommy or Daddy to find a doggie in it for me. I say "woo woo" (which is the sound the doggie makes) repeatedly until they find a doggie in the magazine. Because of this, Daddy calls me the "Woo Woo Hunter". Sometimes there are no woo woos in the magazine and I get very upset so Mama decided to buy me a picture book filled with woo woos. I love my woo woo book but it still doesn't stop me from woo woo hunting in magazines.

Making Matthew Smile

It's so easy to make Matthew smile. As long as you talk to him, he will show you his cute smile. Here is Daddy talking to Matthew and making him smile.

California Pizza Kitchen

A couple of Wednesdays ago, we picked up some food from CPK for dinner. Matthew, Betty Nai Nai, and I watched some basketball while Mommy waited for our food to be ready.

My 18-Month Check-Up

I had my 18-month check-up a couple of weeks ago. The doctor said that even though I'm not gaining weight as much as I did before, I'm doing very well. Mommy says that I'm slimmer now coz I'm more active and more picky with food. Anyways, before we left the doctor's office, the nurse gave me a vaccine shot on my arm. I was such a brave boy... I just complained a little but I didn't cry.

Pretty Flower

I was playing in our backyard the other day and picked this pretty flower. Mommy thought it would be cute and funny to see what Matthew and I would look like with the flower tucked behind our ear.

Sleeping Through the Night

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of Matthew. He is sleeping through most of the night now. He sleeps for about 6 hours a night which gives Mommy and Daddy enough time to rest.

My Lion Backpack

A while ago Kuya Jared gave me this cool lion backpack but it wasn't until a couple of days ago that I took an interest on it. Mommy showed me how to wear my lion backpack and I ended up wearing it for most of the day.

Nap Time

Mommy has been having a hard time with me lately during nap time (see previous post) but it was a completely different story a couple of days ago. When I felt tired the other day, I waved bye bye to my babysitter, took Mommy's hand, and went to our bedroom. Then I drank my milk and fell asleep in 5 minutes. Mommy was so happy!

Quality Time with Mommy

Last week, Mommy and I were fighting a lot coz I was refusing to take a nap for most of the week. Even when I was very tired, I would do everything I could to stay awake... from making spit bubbles to licking the pillows. Mommy was very frustrated with me. She felt so bad about our fights that she thought it would be nice to have a change of pace and spend some quality time with me at the mall.

Our New Friend, Evan

Yesterday we got to meet Baby Evan...Uncle Tommy and Auntie Wendy's first baby. He was born only a week or two before Matthew. Mommy and Daddy had a great time catching up with friends...and I had a great time cause i got to hang out with Tyson again. Tyson and I watched Blues Clues on Auntie Liz's portable DVD player (although i insisted on pushing all the buttons) and then we ran all around the restaurant stage...and we didn't even fall down. We're awesome. Anyways, i can't wait to see everyone again soon...maybe all the kids can come over to my house this summer and go swimming.

Hamming It Up

Yesterday at Yeh Yeh's house, whenever Mommy would tell me to say "Cheese" for a picture, i would do this strange thing with my right arm. Everyone thought it was very amusing.

Hanging Out at Yeh Yeh's House

Yesterday we went home to Westminster because we had to go to Baby Evan's one month birthday celebration. But afterwards i got to hang out with all of daddy's family. I had a great time running around yeh yeh's house and i especially like climbing up and down the stairs. Matthew just chilled out as usual. He was such a good boy. He slept most of the time that we were there.

Baby Chub Chub

The last time mommy and daddy took Matthew to the doctor, he weighed in at about 14 lbs. But i think he's gained some more weight since then, cause my bro is looking very plump these days. Just look at his chubby cheeks!!!

Cheesecake Factory

This past Saturday, we all went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory in Sherman Oaks. I loved the wheat bread. What i didn't like was being trapped in the booth. Mommy and Daddy...don't you guys know that i need to be free!!! Matthew will keep you company while I go exploring.

Cutie Pie

Thanks Ninang Jae for my customized "cutie pie" onesie. It fits perfectly and the picture on the onesie looks like me also. Except i have a little more hair.

Daddy and Matthew

Daddy loves Matthew so much!! But i'm not jealous. I love Matthew and Daddy (and Mommy) also.

These are Matthew's two main faces...one is happy!! He's glad to see you and he wants to play. The other is serious. He's about to make a poop.

Wednesdays with Betty Nai Nai

Betty Nai Nai has been coming up for the last couple of weeks on Wednesdays to help Mommy with me and Matthew, since we are a handful. Thanks Betty Nai Nai for helping take care of us.

A Nice Surprise

Last Wednesday, Betty Nai Nai came by with surprise...she just bought a Yorkie puppy and she brought it by for me to play with since I am absolutely crazy about dogs. That was an awesome day...i had so much fun playing with the doggie. Hopefully daddy will buy me a doggy some day.

No More Bottles for Me

I am officially off the bottle. In just a short period of time, Mommy was able to wean me off the bottle. I take my milk in a sippy cup now coz I'm a big boy. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me but at the same time, they're kinda sad coz this milestone just goes to show that I'm growing up so fast.

Mr. Smiley Face

Mommy calls Matthew "Mr. Smiley Face" coz he loves to smile. Whenever anyone talks to him, he always flashes his adorable toothless smile.

Organizing My Toys

A lot of my toys are very hard to get to coz they're buried in my toy bin and so Mommy decided that it was time to get them organized. Here I am in the middle of a big mess before Mommy put all my toys away nicely so that I can get to them whenever I want to play with them.

Ethan Dancing at the Nokia Center

After watching the Wiggles Concert, me, mommy and daddy hung out for bit in the Nokia Center quad. They had some cool music playing over the loud speaker, so i decided to show off some of my moves.

Duck and Bunny Friends

For my one-year birthday, Ninang Jae gave me my duck and bunny friends. They are Mommy's most favorite present that I received especially coz Ninang Jae hand-made them for me.

Sweet Angel

Mommy says that Matthew is such a sweet angel especially when he sleeps. He loves to sleep in his papasan chair. All Mommy has to do is wrap him up like a burrito, give him his binkie, then put him down in his chair and he falls asleep on his own. He is such a good boy.

Getting Some Practice

After Mommy gave Matthew a bath, Ninang Jae changed Matthew's clothes for the very first time the other day. She wasn't quite sure how to do it in the beginning coz she's only used to taking care of her doggies... but she eventually figured it out and did a great job.

UCLA vs Memphis

After my haircut, we all went to Tyson's house to watch UCLA play Memphis in the Final Four. Actually, only Daddy and Uncle Brian watched the game. Mommy and Auntie Liz watched Tyson and I. They fed us snacks and chased us around like paparazzi with their cameras!!

I had a great time playing with all of Tyson's toys. And i really liked looking at Auntie Liz's videos on her camera.

Unfortunately, UCLA was soundly beaten by Memphis. And as punishment for UCLA's poor play, our Mommies and Daddies put us to work...even though we weren't even the ones playing basketball...sheesh!!!

All in all, I had a great time hanging out with Tyson. I was really sad to leave. He has such a cool broom!! I can't wait to play with him again.
